Our history

The ipa is the world's largest and oldest fraternal police organization, founded in 1950 by british sergeant arthur troop. ipa today brings together more than 380,000 members in about 100 countries, distributed on 5 continents and 65 affiliated national sections.
Under the slogan "servo per amikeco" (serving for friendship), the ipa promotes integration between police from different countries through professional, cultural and social exchange activities.
The organisation is politically independent and not linked to trade unions.
The ipa is open to all police officers, active and retired, without distinction as to patent, office, gender, race, language or religion. the organization is committed to the 1948 universal declaration of human rights and has an advisory status with important international bodies.
